Student Leadership

NJHS

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding 6-8 students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. NJHS has a significant leadership expectation for members and also provides many leadership opportunities to members. Each year the faculty advisor will select possible candidates. The faculty council approves candidates and induction occurs during the second semester.

Athletic Team Manager (High School Students Only)

Team managers are responsible for:

Attending practice
Preparing all equipment
Running the clock
Keeping score
Assisting the coach in cleaning and organizing uniforms
Other duties as assigned by the coach

As mentors to the middle school athletes, team managers must display godly character and morality, and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

Athletic Team Captains

Athletic teams generally have one or more captains who are considered student leaders on their team. Coaches place significant value in this student leadership role and invest time into teaching captains how to lead and serve their teams. Each coach places specific leadership expectations and responsibilities on each FBCS sports captain to lead their team with integrity, heart, and excellence.

Administration Prep

Students can apply for placement in a program that exposes them to the administrative side of the school. Qualified students must demonstrate integrity, responsibility and work ethic.

Safety Patrol

The Safety Patrol is a select group of Fifth and Sixth Graders that are committed to providing a safe school environment for all students at First Baptist Christian School. A Safety Patrol member should be responsible, respectful, cooperative, and helpful. Members of the Safety Patrol must remain in good academic standing in all subject areas and model good behavioral choices.
